I don't think this is vandalism. I think she is honoring it by adding a bit of color. It's not like she claimed the original print.

usually print colourists use water-based paint that is "reversible"..so through washing it should be possible to restore the print to its original black and white state. Let's hope that's the case here!

well from a artist point of view you would think is a print of the original print or a copy.sure I wouldn't want to do that to an original art print.just out of respect to the artist and the true art.

I would ask the Community at "I Antique Online" http://www.iantiqueonline.com
They have over 900 members who buy, sell or collect antiques and art. You will get more specialized feedback this way.

What kind of information are you trying to find on it? Just the printing date? You could try contacting a rare/antique book dealer in your city. They'd probably at least be able to point you in the right direction.

I've attempted this too, and it is very difficult to get a value for anqitue books. A lot of the time you can get an idea from Ebay, but books like yours and other really valuable ones are harder to find, and probably wont show up on Ebay.

This site was recommended to me by an appraiser

http://www.pbagalleries.com/bibliobot/

Can give you an idea, and is also a professional auctioning site you could contact.
